On being a foster parent; OR it matters to THIS one! I am...
Intertwined and meshed with a red hot honey- The love of my life. Together, we reach out.
Full of love- Releasing my bubbles and Scarred from the pain.
Ever ready to try one more time... But confused at the effort to throw THIS starfish Back to the ocean under a clear blue sky.
Astounded at the aging process and afraid- That I need to hurry before my time is over... Is there another starfish waiting for me?
Green at many things- But jumping right in and giving a try, Jerky and jumpy with my beauty inside.
The mother of boys- Butterfly wings, and skateboard wheels, Dirt and scrapes With souls that sing.
No one special- just another butterfly, Always emerging and starting anew, Each time a starfish is thrown to the blue... There is another on shore waiting for you. By Kathy Harvey April 2003 Inspired by my self-portrait quilt, Foster parenting, and the Starfish story. Quilt was started in a workshop taught by De Anne Sbardellati.
