My boy, Steven just met me...I think it was love at first sight! Steven is taking the primary responsibility of raising me, although I do hear his parents reminding him at times. When Steven and his twelve year old foster brother expressed interest in wanting a puppy, it just seemed natural in the Harvey family who has been taking care of foster children for years to have a 'foster dog'. December 2002
Here I am with my foster mom on New Years Eve 2002
This is me with my boy....we are best friends!
I am growing like a weed....or maybe like a dog! May 2003
I really like to get in the spirit of things. July 4, 2003
I am so glad that my people have a pool, cause I sure do like to swim. My boy is teaching me to dive underwater for the ball. I am teaching him to throw it for me! summer 2003
This was taken at a CCI picnic and reunion where all of us CCI dogs, (assigned, released, in training, and retired) got together for a special day of food and dog games. It's always nice to see old friends! September 2003
This is my latest photo...did you see the wall hanging quilt that my foster mom made using this pose with my pool in the background? (it's the next picture) I spend a lot of time under her Gammill quilting machine while she is working, but only until my boy comes home from school! September 2003
This is the quilt I posed for.
I'll be back with more info soon, until then, take care, keep the carpet clean and don't drink from the toilet!
Jettis
Aarrrgh! I'm ferocious!
Once in a while my boy and his family buy me a stuffed toy to play with.
It really is a treat as I am only allowed this type of toy when they are
watching me...cause I rip it to shreds and they know I could choke on parts that
aren't meant to be eaten. Nylabones and Kongs are the only toys I am
allowed unsupervised.
I don't quite understand the
fascination with all these orange balls... Speaking of understanding, do you
know that the harness looking thing around my nose is NOT a muzzle? A lot
of people seem to be confused about this. What I am wearing is a 'Halti'
or 'Gentle Leader'. They are used in the same manner as a choke chain for
training, but it is a lot kinder to the the dog being trained...kind of pulls my
nose in the direction that the human wants. It in no way hinders my
ability to eat, drink, bark, breath or bite!
Happy Birthday to me!

A November trip to Disneyland...I
liked this guy so much that I bought a hat just like his!
Goofy and I have a special
connection!
This must be where good dogs get
stuffed toys??? huh? huh? huh?
"Why do you want me to say
'cheese'?...'biscuit' would be more appropriate!"
I'm exhausted from posing for
Thanksgiving pictures in the new scarf that Sharon Hritz made for me.
Thank you Sharon!....sorry I chewed on it.
My family and I wish you all a
wonderful holiday season.... I'm wishing for a stocking full of nylabones and
biscuits. Please tell Santa Dog that I've been good.
Maybe I'll train to pull Santa's
sleigh....I wonder if I could learn to fly?
Sharon was so sweet to give me
another scarf....with a Christmas theme! I love dressing up for the
holiday. The fluff hanging from my mouth is what is left of the stuffed
toy I got from Santa Dog.
Santa Dog was good to me. I
love these 'hol-e' balls...they last a long time and they sink slowly in the
pool allowing me to practice my dive. I love the stuffed toys too, but as
I get older and my teeth get bigger they tend to last up to twenty minutes!
I'm all tuckered out from the
Christmas morning excitement, but have found a comfy place to rest on the lap of
my boys' big brother. I have really attached myself to my boy and his
family. They have received my turn in date of February 21 and are busy
making sure that I am prepared to graduate.
January 2004. My family is
busy getting me ready for my placement in the advanced training section of CCI
where I will spend nine months before my final graduation from the program and
placement. My foster family will be invited back to see me at my
graduation and be able to meet the family I was meant to be a part of.
Will they miss me?..... What do you
think?
Posing with a friend at 'The Lazy
Dog Cafe' in Huntington Beach. 2-15-04
The Lazy Dog Cafe seemed like a
good place for my family to have lunch....
This was after my interview with a reporter from the Orange County Register. Watch for the story in the next week to see what I had to say.
While waiting for my graduation ceremony to begin, I got to visit with my
brother (Jonas), my mother (Elissa), and my father (Gibson aka Sonny).

I have my new blue cape now and am
ready for my advanced training here at the CCI center in Oceanside. Saying
goodbye to my boy was really tough though. I will do my best to make him
proud. He knows that the hurt in his heart and the tears in his eyes are
for a good cause and I am proud of him for giving so much of himself to make a
difference in someone else's life.
Stay tuned for progress reports of my advanced training as my foster family gets them.... The first one is expected in mid March.
Check out my article in the local section of The Orange County Register 3/2/04. You can see a copy by going back to my homepage and clicking on the highlighted 'fair document' page.
May 2004 My family has received two updates now and all is going well. I am learning so much in my new environment in Oceanside with the trainers....keep your fingers crossed for my continued success.
July 2004 Steven won 1st
place again in the Orange County Fair in the community service division.
He also got Best of Show-reserve. Kathy won a 1st place ribbon for the
quilt she made of me.

August 2004 My family just received the call that I made it! They will come back to see me on Saturday and to officially present me to my new family where I will be a skilled companion dog to a 10 year old boy. I can't wait to see them again and thank Steven for his dedication and persistence in making this possible.
